Hi! I’m your Nutrition Coach and Registered Dietitian, Brittany Brake. I’m so glad you’re here! Below is a snap shot about me and my love for food.

Growing up, I was bombarded by loved ones and doctors about my bodyweight. It felt like a constant topic of conversation. I even followed a special diet to address my weight so I could become a healthier person. I understand how frustrating it is to be hyper-focused on your weight, working to make changes and only seeing small improvements.

It seemed like no matter how hard I tried, the number on the scale just wouldn’t budge. I spent many years feeling like my body was the enemy, instead of appreciating it for all of the wonderful things that it could do. It took a long time to feel comfortable in my skin and to recognize that I’m more than my size. I understand now that I’m able to live a thriving, healthy life in my current body.

THE GOOD NEWS?

You can, too!

Chef Brittany – The Food Lover!

If I had stuck with my original life plan, you would be calling me Chef Brittany. I thrive in the kitchen!

I honed my love of food and nutrition in culinary school. After working in restaurants, I realized I wouldn’t be able to help people the way I truly wanted to if I continued down that road. I wanted people with dietary limitations and weight management challenges to understand that there are options available to them – food doesn’t have to feel limiting.

Once I knew that I wanted to help people make informed decisions about their food choices, I decided that becoming a dietitian would allow me to combine my passion for food and helping people. Food has the power to bring joy and good health. It’s our job to understand how to use it!

My years working in clinical settings helped me to understand that healthy habits encourage a healthy, sustainable lifestyle. When people start to adjust their habits, slowly adding in changes, they’re able to experience a healthy lifestyle for the long-term.

My clients started to unravel the habits that led them to an unhealthy lifestyle. As a Nutrition Coach, I encourage all of my clients to adjust their habits so they can experience the same success.

So often, we put food into categories like “good” and “bad”, but the reality is that food is just food! We should be focusing on fueling our bodies with the foods that will make us feel energized and ready to take on the world.
